Tigers Take Control of Close Game With Big Third Period
|

Jeff Capella

Capella's quartet, including three in a span of less than a quarter, rejuvenated a flat Tiger team that fell behind early and felt pressure from the Yeomen in a 4-2 partial result at the intermission. The second half proved to be a complete reversal, as George Harris' men tallied six unanswered goals to quell any notion of an upset.
Partnering in the midfield with sophomore Mitch Cohagan (Pickerington, Ohio/North), who had a goal and three assists himself, Capella and the Tigers claimed their sixth win of the season, tying coach Harris' high-water mark during his Wittenberg career.
Freshman George Gion (Northfield, Ill./New Trier) got in the act with a goal and an assist on a day when the Tiger shots came from all angles in a 46-26 shooting edge for the home side.
With the remaining slate chock-full of home dates, the Tigers have their first opportunity to claim victory No. 7 when Trine comes to visit at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Edwards-Maurer Field.
