TIGERS EARN ALL-NORTH COAST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE HONORS IN MENšS LACROSSE

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio--- Two Wittenberg University menšs lacrosse players were selected second team All-North Coast Athletic Conference and seven players earned honorable mention honors for their performances this season.

Earning second team honors for the Tigers were senior attack Billy Habermeyer (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft) and junior midfield Shawn Egan (Roswell, Ga./Holy Innocents). Habermeyer, a second team pick in 1997, led the Tigers in scoring with 3.00 points per game. He recorded 26 goals and 16 assists for Wittenberg. Egan was second on the team in goals per game with 2.4 and netted 24 goals and five assists for the Tigers.

Honorable mention honors went to junior attack Mario Cassani (St. Louis, Mo./Desmet Jesuit), sophomore attack Alexander Nichols (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), sophomore midfield Nate Reed (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), junior midfield Chris Gruber (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson), junior defense Scott Gilbert (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers), senior defense Dan Hillerich (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) and senior defense John Bodin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller).

The Tigers, under the direction of seventh year head coach Bruce Reid, finished the season with a 7-7 overall record and a 2-3 conference record to place fourth in the NCAC.
