The defense continued to play strong, only giving up one goal in the second quarter. The offense continued to produce, scoring five goals with Mario Cassani scoring twice. Collins, Andy Stone, Habermeyer and Rob Ehrich also scored with Collins adding two assists. Dan Hillerich, David Roth and Mario Cassani each had an assist. Wittenberg took an 8-1 lead at the half.
In the third quarter Wittenberg continued to play strong on both sides of the ball. The defense held Oberlin to one goal while the offense produced five goals. Mark Burrell and Collins scored two goals each and Michael Stormshak added another goal. Wittenberg began to go to its bench, playing all of the younger players. The score at the end of the third was 13-2 Tigers.
During the fourth quarter the teams traded goals. Wittenberg still controlled both the offense and defense. The younger players did well running the offense and playing pressure defense. Habermeyer scored the final goal on a man-up play making the final score Wittenberg 14, Oberlin 3. Wittenberg's man-down defense played extremely well, holding Oberlin's man-up scoreless in five opportunities. Oliver had a strong gamewith 14 saves. Freshman goalie Charlie Hamilton played well with one save. Oliver also led the Tigers in groundballs with six, followed by Jonathan Sonntag with five.
