Jeff Collins (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) led the Tigers in scoring with 24 goals and nine assists, while Brett Ferry (Vinyard Haven, Mass./Ridgefield) followed the scoring with 17 goals and nine assists. Andy Stone (West Caton, Mass./Acton Boxboro) added nine goals and five assists, and David Roth (Chesterfield, Mo./Lafayette) rounded out the scoring leaders with 11 goals and one assist.
Collins and Mike Dunkly (Acton, Mass./Acton Boxborough) were named
honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference.
There is great optimism for 1997, since as many as 21 players are expected to return next season and the experience will begin to pay big dividends.
There is compelling evidence that Wittenberg is showing steady improvement year-by-year.
"It is an exciting time for lacrosse at Wittenberg," Reid said. "Those players who come into the program now will be a part of something special since by the time they graduate they can be a part of a winning tradition.
"Nobody can beat our facilities for lacrosse, with a grass practice field just outside the locker room to a competitive artificial surface next door which makes the game all that much more exciting to play," Reid said.
The North Coast Athletic Conference provides outstanding competition with the likes of national powers Ohio Wesleyan and Denison leading the way.
