The second quarter saw both teams to continue to play strong on both sides of the ball. Wittenberg traded goals with St. Vincent's, each team scoring one goal. Mark Burrell scored for the Tigers unassisted as the Tigers took a 2-1 lead into the half.
Both teams came out in the third quarter continuing to play well. Wittenberg scored an unassisted goal by Michael Stormshak but St. Vincent's battled back and scored goal to make the score at the end of the third quarter Wittenberg 3-2.
The fourth quarter saw St. Vincent's climb back into the game. Wittenberg scored goals by David Roth and Billy Habermeyer assisted by Cassani and Burrell. St. Vincent's came back and tied the game with seconds left to send the game into overtime. Jon Sonntag won the face-off and Eric Clapp picked up the groundball and pushed it up the field for the Tigers. Wittenberg took a couple of shots but didn't score. As St. Vincent's began to clear the ball, Burrell picked off a pass and threw it to Habermeyer who fed the ball to Cassani who scored the winning goal. The Tigers took first place in the tournament with a 6-5 win in overtime.
Goalie Michael Oliver had 13 saves. Eric Clapp and Jon Sonntag led the Tigers in groundballs with 6 six each with Shawn Egan and Andrew McIntyre following with each.
