Wittenberg Finishes In 2-2 Tie With Cedarville
Sept. 20, 2005

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - For the fourth straight time, the Wittenberg Tigers and Cedarville Yellow Jackets couldn't settle things after regulation while playing on the Yellow Jackets' home pitch. One overtime wouldn't do it. Two overtimes weren't enough either.

So in soccer's version of three strikes and you're out, the Tigers and Yellow Jackets have now finished in a tie four straight times while playing on Cedarville's home field. On Tuesday on a warm summer night in Cedarville, the two teams finished in a 2-2 draw.

Wittenberg's overall record moved to 3-3-3 on the 2005 season, while Cedarville is now 4-1-1. The Tigers open North Coast Athletic Conference action Saturday with a key home game against Kenyon back at Edwards-Maurer Field.

Once again, it was the kiddie corps doing the offensive damage for the Tigers. After Cedarville took a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Tigers rose to the challenge with a pair of goals by freshman midfielder Matt Borland. Fellow freshman Justin Jenkins assisted on one of the scores.
