The loss was Wittenberg's third straight to open the new campaign, and it was the Tigers' second by a painful one goal margin. Wittenberg has two chances in the coming week to get back into the win column, starting with a road date at Thomas More on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Wittenberg got on the board in the 17th minute as junior Spencer Hogue (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) finished a play started by sophomore Stefan Latham (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central). The Tigers held a 1-0 lead through the middle of the second half, when Centre tied it in the 65th minute off a corner kick.
The Colonels finished things off in the 85th minute with a score on a penalty kick. Wittenberg sophomore goalkeeper Michael Lambeck (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) wound up with three saves against two goals against.
