Leslie Ramsey was named head coach of the Wittenberg University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving program in 2001. She has led the Tiger teams to top-five finishes in the North Coast Athletic Conference, the deepest and most challenging NCAA Division III conference in the nation year in and year out, in each of her seasons as the team's head coach. In 2003, she was honored by her colleagues with NCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year.
Ramsey was previously an assistant coach at the University of Kentucky from 1996 until 2001. During that time, the Wildcats consistently ranked among the top teams in the Southeast Conference and in the top-25 nationally.
Her professional experience includes serving as assistant coach of the Wildcat Aquatics Swim Team, head coach of the Copperfield Swim Team, and instructor with the Kentucky Stroke Clinic and Swim Camps, all in Lexington, Ky. She also has had the opportunity to participate in a coaching trip to Germany in 1996, and traveled to eastern Africa in 1997 on a teaching excursion.
Ramsey enjoyed tremendous success in her collegiate career at the University of North Carolina. She was an NCAA Division I All-America selection in 1992, '94 and '95, took home Atlantic Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year honors in 1995, was named Most Valuable Swimmer of her team in 1994 and was an Olympic Trial finalist in the 200-yard butterfly in 1996, in which she finished 14th. In addition, Ramsey was an All-ACC Academic Honor Roll student in 1994 and '95, and she was named Most Dedicated Swimmer on the UNC team each of those years. Ramsey was recently named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's 50th Anniversary Women's Swimming and Diving Team, making her one of the ACC's 50 all-time greatest athletes in her sport.
Ramsey has a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science from the University of North Carolina and a master's degree in sports management from the University of Kentucky. A native of Yorktown, Va., Ramsey is a former standout for the Coast Guard Blue Dolphin Club Team.
She resides in Springfield, and in her spare time she is remodeling her new home. In addition, Ramsey completed her first marathon in October 2002.

Ian Hershey came to Wittenberg from Dive Cincinnati, one of the premier diving clubs in the Midwest, in 2002. His coaching experience beyond Dive Cincinnati includes head coaching positions at Notre Dame Academy, St. Xavier High School, Elder High School and McAuley High School, all in the Cincinnati area.
Hershey was a four-year varsity letterwinner at the University of Cincinnati. He was the 1992 Kentucky High School state champion and also was a five-time Junior Olympic qualifier.
Hershey earned his B.A. in Communications from the University of Cincinnati and currently resides in Columbus.

Aaron Workman joined the staff in 2003 after serving as the head coach at Hollins University in the 2002-03 season.
Workman was a four-time All-American and All-Southeast Conference selection as a swimmer at the University of Kentucky between 1997 and 2001, and he participated in the 2000 Olympic Trials. In addition, he was an Academic All-American in 1999 and 2001 and was awarded Academic All-SEC in 2000 and 2001. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Kentucky.
In addition, Workman was a YMCA national champion in 1997.
As head coach at Hollins University, Workman led the team to its highest point total at the conference meet in eight years. In 2001-02, he served as an undergraduate assistant for the Kentucky swimming and diving team and a senior coach of Wildcat Aquatics. He coached two USA Swimming Senior National qualifiers and 12 Sectional qualifiers.

After representing the Tigers for four years in the pool, Bob Rafferty joined the Wittenberg coaching staff on deck in 2002.
As a swimmer, Rafferty excelled in the sprinting events. He received two All-America awards in his career as part of record-setting relays. In his senior year he was named a team captain.
Rafferty received his B.A. in Political Science. In addition to serving as an assistant coach, he is also working in the Office of University Communications as the university's webmaster. He is responsible for all content on the Wittenberg Web site.
