After losing to No. 1 seed Kenyon, 5-0, on Saturday and No. 5 seed Oberlin, 5-2, on Sunday, the Tigers bounced back to cap the season on a positive note with a 5-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan. The two teams had split matches during the regular season, with the Tigers winning the match that mattered most to improve to 5-11 overall.
Freshman Andy Lamb (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) picked up the Tigers' lone singles win at the No. 6 position against Oberlin, while sophomores Rob Lehner (Gahanna, Ohio/DeSales) and Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) were winners at No. 2 doubles.
Lamb added a win at No. 6 singles against OWU as well, to go along with a win at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Greg Harvey (Urbana, Ohio/Urbana). Lods and Lehner added a win at No. 2 doubles and then junior Brad Seymour (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) teamed with freshman Robert Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) rounded things out with a win at No. 1 doubles for the all-important sweep.
Seymour clinched the win with a straight sets victory at No. 1 singles.
