Following Seymour, Wittenberg won two more singles matches, on the success of freshman Robert Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) in the second spot and freshman Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) coming through in the sixth spot.
The three wins meant three losses in the singles matches, placing Wittenberg and Ohio Wesleyan in a tie heading into the doubles portion of the evening, which consisted of three matches. Seymour and senior Ryan Snyder (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) teamed up to put away Ohio Wesleyan in the first match. In the next match, Fisher and sophomore Rob Lehner (Gahanna, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) defeated their opponents 8-3.
With the two doubles wins, Wittenberg statistically clinched the evening, though Ohio Wesleyan did manage to take the last doubles match. The win gets the Tigers off to a 1-0 start both overall and in the conference.
