Showing strength in the middle-distance, the Tiger men earned wins from a pair of freshmen in the 500 dash and 1 mile run. Ryan Hagen (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) edged the field in the 500 dash in a time of 1:10.38 while Kyler Cowgill (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) pulled away late in the mile to win with a time of 4:43.54. The Tiger men also earned wins in the 55 hurdles, the 1,000 meter run and the 4 x 400 relay.
For the women, junior Laura Schumaker (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) rolled in the 55 hurdles in a time of 9.24 to join freshman Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) in the win column. Dubuc claimed the 1,000 run in a time of 3:13.43.
With their final tune-up in the rearview mirror, the Tigers shift their focus to the NCAC Championships coming up on March 6-7 from Denison University. The men look to improve on a 7th place finish from last year's meet while the women head into the meet after a 4th place mark last winter.
