Wittenberg to Host 2003 Summer Sports Camps

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - A majority of the students who make Wittenberg University a lively and entertaining place will be elsewhere this summer. That doesn't mean the Wittenberg campus will be without life and the sounds of young people hard at work - and play.

Eight different varsity athletic teams at Wittenberg are sponsoring summer camps this year - men's basketball, women's basketball, field hockey, football, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's soccer and men's and women's swimming and diving. In addition, Wittenberg will be hosting a National Youth Sports Program for the third consecutive year.

The men's basketball program is hosting individual skill instruction camps June 15-19 and July 20-24, team camps June 11-13, June 23-25 and June 26-27, and one-day varsity shootouts June 21 and July 19. The women's basketball program is hosting an individual skills camp July 6-10, day camp July 7-10, junior varsity team camp July 5 and varsity team camp July 11-12. The football program is hosting an all-position camp June 7, a big-man camp and quarterback camp July 19 and a 7-on-7 passing league on July 12.
