Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Brown has announced that Travis Schwab has been selected to be the Tigers' new assistant coach. Schwab, a 2004 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, comes to Wittenberg after serving last year as the full-time assistant at Kenyon College under current head coach and Wittenberg Athletics Hall of Honor member Matt Croci.

Prior to coaching at Kenyon, Schwab was an assistant coach at Heidelberg College for two years while obtaining a master's degree in business administration. At both of his previous coaching stops, Schwab had a wide range of responsibilities in nearly every phase of the program, but his primary on-court duty has been the development of post players.

During his playing days at OWU, Schwab became the only player in conference history selected first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference four times. As a senior, he was selected second-team National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America after leading the Bishops to a record of 19-8. His 1,985 points rank second on the OWU career scoring list and third on the NCAC's list, and he was selected to the NCAC's prestigious 20th anniversary second-decade team in 2002.

Schwab, who holds the NCAC Tournament record for points in a game with 40 against Wooster in 2004 in a game played at Wittenberg's HPER Center, replaces Artie Taylor, who recently accepted the men's basketball head coach position at Ohio Dominican University.
