Vernon brought new life to the Tiger offense in 2007 as she topped the conference with of 39 total points, 18 goals, six game-winning goals and 87 shots. She ranked 31st in NCAA Division III with 2.05 points per game and 20th nationally with 0.95 goals per game.
The Tigers finished the 2007 season with a 12-7 overall record and finished in a three-way tie for the regular season NCAC title with an 8-4 record. The top seed in the NCAC Tournament by virtue of tiebreaker criteria, the Tigers lost a heartbreaking championship game 2-1 in penalty strokes to Kenyon College.
Vernon previously made first-team All-Great Lakes Region. All-NCAC awards have not been announced yet.
The Wittenberg field hockey program has not had a losing season since 1980 and is one of just two NCAC squads to reach the conference tournament in each of the six years it has been played. Head Coach Diana Kuser has a three-year record of 33-22 leading the program, including a mark of 25-11 in NCAC play.
