Senior cornerback Brandyn Brown and his teammates hope to deliver a Community Night win to the Tiger faithful Sept. 26.
Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University will host Community Night on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Edwards-Maurer Field. Pre-game festivities, including a practice session for youth football players and inflatables for young children, will begin at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers' football game against North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Ohio Wesleyan is set for a 7 p.m. kick-off.

Tickets for all Wittenberg football home games are $8 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. They will go on sale at 5 p.m. Youth football players receive free admission and a complementary hot dog and drink if they wear their jersey to the game. Parents of youth football players receive admission at the reduced price of $5.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets and, weather permitting, sit on the hill at the north end of the stadium, which overlooks the playing field. A large crowd is expected, as this event coincides with Wittenberg's annual Family Weekend.

A variety of special pregame and halftime entertainment will also be provided, including performances by local high school bands. Youth football players who perform best in the pregame practice will be invited to participate in a halftime obstacle course challenge, with exciting prizes on the line. Following the game, Tiger football players will be available to sign a photo that all youth players will receive upon entry.

The Wittenberg Department of Athletics is planning a garage sale during the game. A wide variety of uniforms and equipment no longer in use by the Tiger teams will be available for purchase at between $1 and $3.

Wittenberg students can redeem their ticket stubs at Chipotle. They will receive a free drink with a food purchase at the restaurant, located on Bechtle Avenue in Springfield.

Finally, Wittenberg's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is hosting a food drive during the event. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate, or they can make a cash donation. All canned goods and money will go directly to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank in Springfield.
