SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Wittenberg University is hosting Community Night on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Edwards-Maurer Field. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. under a large tent at the north end of the stadium, approximately two hours prior to kickoff of Wittenberg’s football game against visiting Heidelberg College.

Tickets for both events will be sold at the gate, beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. Meal ticket prices are $3 for adults and $2 for children. Game ticket prices are $5 for adult reserved seats, $4 for adult general admission, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children.

Special pre-game and halftime entertainment will be provided by the WITTMEN Crew and the Cedarville High School Band. Fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets and, weather permitting, sit on the hill at the north end of the stadium, which overlooks the playing field.

"We believe the hill near McCreight Avenue is a great venue from which to watch intercollegiate athletic events," said Wittenberg University President Baird Tipson, who will serve as the event’s official host. "Edwards-Maurer Field is one of the most beautiful facilities you will find in small college athletics."

The athletic department will be holding its annual garage sale during the event, at which time athletic equipment, uniforms and other paraphenalia will be sold. Nickles Bakery, Marriott Food Service and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity are helping to support the evening’s activities.
