Women's Soccer Opens 2008 Season Ranked No. 15 Nationally
When the Wittenberg University women's soccer team kicks off the 2008 season this weekend at Edwards-Maurer Field, the Tigers will take the field with a preseason national ranking for the first time in school history. Volleyball Earns Eighth Team Academic Award
Wittenberg University's volleyball team was one of 353 high school and college programs to earn a 2007-08 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, annually honors men's and women's college and high school teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. Ohio Wesleyan claimed four top-five finishes in the six winter sports to move into first place in the race for the 2007-08 North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports championship.
