Tigers Pick Up NCAC Win With Sweep Of Kenyon

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tiger volleyball team stayed unbeaten in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 3-0 win over the visiting Kenyon Ladies Wednesday night, moving to 5-0 in the NCAC and 9-3 overall. The Ladies, however, fell to 3-15 overall, including a winless 0-5 mark in NCAC action.

The Tigers sent the Ladies home in three sets, winning by scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-12. A wide range of players saw the floor in the victory, led by four players with four kills. Sophomore middle hitter Katie Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Watterson) racked up four kills while adding three aces, and sophomore middle hitter Miranda Sagle (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) tallied four kills while posting five blocks.

Sophomore right side hitter Elyse Adams (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and sophomore hitter Hillary Monnin (Russia, Ohio/Russia) also struck four kills throughout the match.

The Tigers were paced in digs by senior hitter Leslie Clark (Marion, Ohio/Harding) and freshman libero Christina Gilene (Milford, Ohio/McNicholas), each recording 11.

Wittenberg takes Thursday off before returning to the court for Senior Day hosting Wooster on Friday, Oct. 3, for a 7 p.m. match in Pam Evans Smith Arena.
