In her eighth season as an assistant women's basketball and volleyball coach at Wittenberg, Jen Parsons is one of the finest all-around athletes in Wittenberg history. Winner of 12 varsity letters during her playing days - four each in volleyball, basketball and softball before graduating in 1994 - Parsons also had the distinction of serving as captain in each sport and was first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference in volleyball, second-team in basketball and all-region in softball.
She was a part of NCAC titles in both volleyball and basketball and currently serves as an assistant in volleyball, helping the Tigers to six straight NCAC titles. A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Parsons is a graduate of Pemberville Eastwood High School. She hold a master's in exercise science from Arizona State University.
Assistant Coach Tom Franz
Joining the staff for the 11th year is Tom Franz, who retired from Mechanicsburg High School after a 24-year career as girls' basketball coach. Franz, who at one-time also coached boysÕ basketball, had a 364-196 career record. A 1959 graduate of Ohio State, Franz also owns a master's degree from the University of Dayton. Franz and his wife Brenda reside in Mechanicsburg. They have five grown children.
Assistant Coach Phil Sikorski
Joining the staff for a third year is Springfield native and South High School graduate Phil Sikorski. He is currently a counselor at Lincloln and Horace-Mann elementary schools. Sikorski is a 1994 graduate of Wright State University and a 2000 graduate of University of Dayton. Sikorski has coached 13 years at various levels, most recently as the head girls' basketball coach at North from 1997-99 and from 1999-2000 was a varsity assistant with the girls' team at Northwestern High School that finished 24-2. Sikorski and his wife of ten years, Lisa, reside in Springfield and have three children: Miranda, 8, Andrew, 5, and Madison, 4.
Assistant Coach Chad Mason
In his third year with the Wittenberg women's basketball program is another former local high school coach, Chad Mason. Presently the assistant principal at Northeastern High School near Springfield, Mason previously coached at Northwestern High School, also just outside Springfield. He put together a 67-29 record in four seasons, winning one district title and one conference championship. A 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern and the recipient of a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton, Mason lives in Springfield with his wife, Carrie.
