Shannon Keller is Wittenberg's assistant volleyball and women's basketball coach. She came to Wittenberg from Pennsylvania State University at Erie Behrend College, also an NCAA Division III institution, where she was an assistant women's basketball coach there for three years and received a master's of business administration in May 2003. Also the assistant intramurals director at Penn State Behrend, Keller helped the women's basketball program earn the 2003 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular season championship.
In Keller's first year at Wittenberg, she was a part of conference championships in both volleyball and women's basketball. The two programs combined for a staggering 53-13 overall record. Both teams advanced to the NCAA Division III Round of 16.
A 2000 graduate of Allegheny College and four-year starter for Gator women's basketball team, Keller is a native of Massillon, Ohio. Her sister, Tiffany, graduated from Wittenberg in 2003 after earning eight letters in volleyball and women's basketball.
Assistant Coach Tom Franz
Joining the staff for the 12th year is Tom Franz, who retired from Mechanicsburg High School after a 24-year career as girls' basketball coach. Franz, who at one-time also coached boys' basketball, had a 364-196 career record. A 1959 graduate of Ohio State, Franz also owns a master's degree from the University of Dayton. Franz and his wife Brenda reside in Mechanicsburg. They have five grown children.
Assistant Coach Phil Sikorski
Joining the staff for a fourth year is Springfield native and South High School graduate Phil Sikorski. He is currently a counselor at Lincoln and Horace-Mann elementary schools. Sikorski is a 1994 graduate of Wright State University and a 2000 graduate of University of Dayton. Sikorski has coached 13 years at various levels, most recently as the head girls' basketball coach at Springfield North from 1997-99 and from 1999-2000 was a varsity assistant with the girls' team at Northwestern High School that finished 24-2. Sikorski and his wife, Lisa, reside in Springfield and have three children: Miranda, Andrew, and Madison.
Assistant Coach Chad Mason
In his fourth year with the Wittenberg women's basketball program is another former local high school coach, Chad Mason. Presently the assistant principal at Northeastern High School near Springfield, Mason previously coached at Northwestern High School, also just outside Springfield. He put together a 67-29 record in four seasons, winning one district title and one conference championship. A 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern and the recipient of a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton, Mason lives in Springfield with his wife, Carrie.
