SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Rachel Dixon, class of 2009 from West Liberty, Ohio, chose to attend Wittenberg for many reasons. One of the more prominent ones was to play basketball for the legendary Pam Smith. Less than a year after Smith passed away, Dixon and field hockey standout Whitney Marshall, class of 2009 from Barre, Mass., are the first recipients of awards from the Pam Evans Smith '82 Memorial Scholarship. SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — As usual, summer will be a busy time around the Wittenberg University athletics complex in 2008. Twelve different Wittenberg varsity athletic teams – men's basketball, women's basketball, field hockey, football, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball – are sponsoring summer camps this year.
