Tigers Compete Well In D-I Tournament

Jennifer Petro
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Wittenberg Tigers kicked off the spring portion of their 2008-09 season with a solid performance at the North-South Women's Collegiate at Jacksonville Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Tigers were one of two non-NCAA Division III in the 11-team competition, which was hosted by Butler University. Wittenberg was paced individually by senior Jennifer Petro (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart), who carded a pair of sub-90 rounds en route to a 175, good for a tie for 47th place in the 62-player field.

Freshman Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) was next for Wittenberg with a solid 183, her second-best two-day performance as a collegian. Freshman Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) added a 185 and freshman Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) finished with a 187.

The Tigers will continue working out in the sunshine state for the rest of the Spring Break week. They return to competition March 28-29 at Northern Kentucky.
