SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's soccer program opened the reserve portion of the 2006 schedule with a 4-1 win over the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.

Despite the fact that just 11 Wittenberg players were available on a hot afternoon, the Tigers turned in a strong effort at both ends of the field. Offensively, four different players scored a goal, starting with junior Sydney Bates with a breakaway. Junior Melissa Ketterman added a penalty kick after a foul in the box against Cedarville, sophomore Tara Osborne contributed a goal off a through-ball put her in prime position and freshman Kyra Macke closed things with a goal off a deflection in the penalty box.
