Tigers Battle to Second Consecutive Scoreless Draw

The Tiger offense struggled for most of the night to create chances for the strikers, with the front line only managing four shots against a stingy Lion defense. The best opportunities for Wittenberg cam in the second half, with Emily Murray (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey) narrowly missing a re-direction on a great cross from Lauren Johnson (Huntsville, Ala./Hilliard Davidson).
Murray and sophomore defender Maggie Amorello (Sutton, Mass./Worcester Academy) were among the standouts for the Tigers on the night, Wittenberg fought for a merited tie in a physical contest. The two teams combined for 30 fouls on the night.
Jordan Bamberger (Solon, Ohio/Solon) picked up her seventh shutout of the season while collecting four saves.
The Tigers move to 5-1-4 after their second consecutive scoreless draw and final non-conference match of the regular season. They head into conference play Wednesday, Oct. 1, when Ohio Wesleyan comes to town for a 7:30 p.m. opening kickoff from Edwards-Maurer Field.
