The Buckeyes took the lead on a penalty kick, but the Tigers did not give up. Pushing the pace against the Buckeyes, freshman Kathryn Andrachik (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) made a remarkable run up the field playing crossing a ball to Lauren McMahon (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson)to score and tie up the match. The result ended in a 1-1 tie for the Wittenberg Tigers.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Less than 24 hours after the tie with The Ohio State University Club team, the Wittenberg Tiger Reserves traveled down to Cincinnati State to face yet another tough match.
Continuing their effective system play from Friday night, the Tigers came up unlucky. Even after the Tigers dominate all 90 minutes of the game, completing pass after pass to move up the field, the Tigers fell short to Cincinnati State with a score of 4-2. Dealing with an uneven playing surface, the Tigers played well and created many scoring opportunities throughout the whole game.
Trailing 3-0, the Tigers scored the first goal on a shot by freshman forward Taylor Clark (Granville, Ohio/Granville), followed by a shot taken outside of the 18 by senior forward Kristy Parker (Hamilton, Ohio/Ross), who added the second goal for the Tigers. The Tigers played with skill and composure, but did not see the result they intended by the 4-2 loss to Cincinnati State.
