GRAND RAPIDS-Calvin College, ranked 4th in the Great Lakes Region, scored 4 second half goals to hand Wittenberg their second consecutive loss to start the season.

Calvin freshman, Trisha Dyk, scored 4 goals in the win for Calvin.

Dyk broke a scoreless tie late in the first half in the 43rd minute, scoring her first collegiate goal on an assist from freshman Sarah Wind. Dyk scored her second goal of the match three minutes into the second half in the 48th minute off a pass from junior Jessica Konyebelt to make the score 2-0

In the 51st minute, Wittenberg senior captain Kim Hepner scored an unassisted goal to tighten the score 2-1.

In the 52nd minute, Wittenberg freshman midfielder, Sara Tawil, scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from Kim Hepner to tie the game.

Wittenberg could not contain Calvin's Dyk, as she scored unassisted goals in the 60th and 64th minute to put Calvin ahead 4-2 with just 26:00 minutes to play.

In the 75th minute of the match, freshman forward put Calvin ahead by a score of 5-2 when she scored off an assist from freshman Alissa Erbland.

With 15:00 minutes to play, Wittenberg created opportunities, but were not able to score.

Calvin freshman goalkeeper Christina Recker recorded 11 saves, and Wittenberg goalkeeper Cary Brown recorded 11. Calvin outshot Wittenberg 23-14.
