ADA,OHIO- Ohio Northern scored 2 goals late in the second half to overcome a 2-1 deficit to beat Wittenberg 3-2.
Ohio Northern went ahead in the 28th minute when Carolyn Heaston scored from 20 yards out.
Wittenberg battled back and tied the score 1-1 in the 37th minute when senior Kim Hepner took a pass from Laura Schrage, beat three defenders and blasted a shot past goalkeeper Heather Davidson to tie the match at 1-1.
Wittenberg went ahead 2-1 in the 60th minute when Natalie Estep plated a ball over the Ohio Northern defense and freshman forward Sara Tkacz tucked the ball past Ohio Northern's keeper to put the Tigers ahead 2-1.
With 30 minutes to play in the match, Witt couldn't hold onto the lead. Late in the 2nd half, with 17 minutes to play, Ohio Northern's Kristie Ehresman got in behind the Tiger defense as she put the ball past Witt keeper Cary Brown in the breakaway situation to tie the game 2-2.
In the 81st minute, with just 9 minutes to play, Ohio Northern struck again as flank midfielder Emalie Larson went behind the Witt defense and put the ball past Witt keeper Cary Brown in the breakaway situation. This put Ohio Northern ahead for good as they went on to preserve the lead and beat the Tigers 3-2.
