SPRINGFIELD, OHIO-Washington University, ranked first in the Central Region, and second in the Nation, beat Wittenberg 3-0. In 1998, Washington beat Witt 10-0.

Washington went ahead early in the first half in the 38th minute as Trisha Young flicked a corner kick into the goal to out the Bears ahead 1-0.

Possession changed hands often, and it would be a while before Washington would score again. Washington scored their second goal of the game 71 minutes later in the 78th minute of the match when Jessica Glick was tangled with Witt freshman Amy McCann inside the box. McCann went down, and Glick retained possession of the ball. Glick turned and struck the ball past Witt keeper Cary Brown to put the Bears ahead 2-0.

Washington scored their final goal when Lynn Telken stepped up and hit a loose ball in the box past Witt Keeper Cary Brown.

Tiger goalkeeper Cary Brown had 3 saves in the match.
