Tigers Roll Along In South Carolina; Top Two Opponents

Alexandra Cummins
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Tigers continued a tremendous stretch of play from the Palmetto State with a pair of wins over Seton Hill and Baldwin-Wallace on Wednesday by scores of 8-1 and 7-2, respectively.

Head Coach Justin Stuckey's women, now 4-0 on their trip to Hilton Head, began their day with an efficient win over Seton Hill, with the Tigers' top four singles flights only dropping a combined four games en route to straight-set victories. Freshman Alex Cummins (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie exemplified the effort, sweeping her match without dropping a game. Cummins came back to win her match against Baldwin Wallace, requiring the tiebreaker to pull out the victory at the sixth flight.

Three doubles victories over the Yellow Jackets in the nightcap allowed the Tigers to run away with the win. The Tiger top tier doubles team of Kat Sundstrom (Trafalgar, Ind./North Central) and Sean Delaney (Powell, Ohio/Worthington Christian) defeated the #12 doubles pair in the Great Lakes region, 8-6. Also, senior Allison Earhart (Muncie, Ind./Yorktown) paired with freshman Maggie Stewart (Bay Village, Ohio/Magnificat) in an 8-1 win in the second flight against B-W.

Hood College awaits in the Spring Break finale on Thursday, March, 12 at 9 a.m.
