Wittenberg Series Presents Journalist Charles Fishman For Fred R. Leventhal Family Endowed Lecture
The 2006-07 Wittenberg Series continues with two important events in the next week. The Rev. Callon W. Holloway will address the Festival Choral Eucharist for the Reformation on Sunday, Oct. 29 and the Kenneth H. Sauer Luther Symposium will feature theologian Martin Marty on Monday. Wittenberg Series Presents Journalist Charles Fishman For Fred R. Leventhal Family Endowed Lecture
Insights into one of the world’s most powerful companies and its impact upon the American economy is the timely subject of a presentation titled “The Wal-Mart Effect” by award-winning investigative and magazine journalist Charles Fishman, the fourth event of the 2006-07 Wittenberg Series. The presentation, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Arena of Wittenberg University’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation Center, is the 2006 Fred R. Recital By Pianist Juana Zayas
Recognized worldwide as one of the greatest living interpreters of the music of Chopin, Zayas has performed throughout Europe, South America and the United States. Her program at Wittenberg will include the “Sonata in A Major,” K. 331 by W.A. Mozart; “Visions fugitives” by Sergei Prokofiev; “Two Legends” by Franz Liszt; “Grande Valse Brillante,” Op. 34, no. 1, “Barcarolle,” Op. 60, “Berceuse,” Op. 57, and “Ballade in g minor,” Op. 23 by Frederic Chopin. Reduced Shakespeare Company Comedy Troupe
The world’s literature will be condensed into a 90-minute roller-coaster ride in All the Great Books (abridged), presented by the Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) as part of the 2006-07 Wittenberg Series.
