Meteorites



The Astronomy Club has a budget. We like to buy things with it. In the spring of 2008, we bought meteorites. Two of them.



I Bet Newton Could Draw- April 4, 2008



I Bet Newton Could Draw was a lecture about the relationship between science and the arts given by Nick Gladman, who graduated from Wittenberg in 2008. Pictures are forthcoming.

Music of the Spheres- October 19, 2007



Music of the Spheres was a talk given by Wittenberg alum Keith Ward, covering the historical relationships between astronomy, math, and music. The talk also featured an example of a monochord, built by the Society of Physics Students, and live musical performances by Keith, Becca Ajer, and Steven Wolgast. The following pictures are from before, during, and after the lecture.

Trunk or Treat- October 28, 2006


Trunk or Treat is an event for Springfield children where campus groups set up cars from which they hand out candy near Halloween. Here is the Astronomy Club's 2006 car.


Trip to the UK- late December 2003- early January 2004


This group went to the UK to look at famous sites, including ones of astronomical significance.
