Denim Day Each year our chapter assists in the fight against breast cancer with Denim Day. In providing pink ribbons, self-examination materials and making a chain for those afflicted with breast cancer as well as serve a breakfast, Gamma Rho encourages donations and increase breast cancer awareness. On Friday, October 20, 2006 Wittenberg students and faculty wore pink & denim in support of the fight against breast cancer and contributed over $400 to Lee National Denim DayŽ who raised $7.6 million for the cause. All donations go directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. As well as participating in the campus-wide Denim Day event, Gamma Rho took part in the Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk. On Saturday, October 21, 2006, the Chapter traveled to Dayton, Ohio where they walked 5k and raised around $430.
