Adopt-A-Family Project
December 2000

The Adopt-A-Family Project was adopted in the Winter of 2000.    The project's purpose is to provide assistance to a local family in the Springfield community.  With the help of local businesses and outside sponsors, our chapter was able to host a family of six last year.  The family enjoyed dinner, a musical performance, and gifts.

This year Omicron Theta will be sponsoring two families.  The event will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2001.  Questions and contribution information should be directed to omicron_theta1913@hotmail.com

The Crystal T. Scott Scholarship is presented annually in memory of one of our beloved charter members.  Crystal Scott was a Biology major at Wittenberg University, where she was diagnosed with cancer.  Following her death, the ladies of the Omicron Theta Chapter adopted the Crystal T. Scott Talent Extravaganza as a  Jabberwock program in her honor.  The event is held annually during the last week of February.  Profits from the Crystal T. Scott Talent Extravaganza benefit award winners that are announced at the Concerned Black Students Formal in April.

The Omicron Theta Chapter was able to award three scholarships to deserving women at Wittenberg last year.

The young ladies wait patiently as Miss Kristen cuts the ice-cream cake; one of the many donations provided by local Springfield businesses.

The Girl's Club was adopted as a chapter program for fourth and fifth grade girls, during the Spring of 2001.  Club members meet weekly at Emerson Elementary, followed by a sleepover at the end of the school year.   The club focuses on reading skills, women's history, teamwork, self-esteem, anger management, and manners.

to being a judge

The Delta Dessert is an annual program that's purpose is to facilitate a relationship with incoming students and upperclassmen.   The Delta Dessert is held in conjunction with the C.B.S BBQ, allowing students to experience Omicron Theta's famous DELTA CAKES.

This year Omicron Theta featured a "bake-off" with the dessert.  It was a success!
