
OFIC is pleased to announce that applications for the Earl F. Morris Memorial Endowed Scholarships may now be submitted online. The Earl F. Morris Memorial Scholarship was started in 1992-93 in memory of Earl F. Morris, long time trustee and volunteer for The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), graduate of Wittenberg University, and founding partner of the Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur law firm in Columbus. Four $2,500 scholarships for students preparing for a legal career are available for undergraduate study at any OFIC college in the 2008-2009 academic year. Students must meet the criteria listed below. Awards may replace loans, but not grants.
* U. S. citizen
* Qualify for financial aid
* Enrolled fulltime in a college that is a member of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges
* Pre-law student (applicant's intent, not necessarity major)
* Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
* Senior class rank for the 2008-2009 academic year
* Demonstrate strong leadership skill
* Involved in campus and/or community activities
