Role-Playing Guild

The Wittenberg Role-Playing Guild provides a community for those interested in games on campus ranging from board games and role-playing games to miniatures and collectible card games.
During the academic year we generally
  • On Friday Nights we run Role-Playing One-shots of a wide variety of Game Systems and genres
  • On Saturday Nights we run Board Games from our wide collection of board games, as well as card games and even the occasional miniatures game
  • Once a month we hold a General Open Guild Meeting, usually the first friday of the month
  • We also do group trips to local area gaming stores so we can check out what is new and maybe pick up a few things as well
  • Of course in March we hold our own Convention, WittCON!

General Guild Meetings: Will be held on the First Fridays of every month during the school year. The next general Guild meeting is May 3rd, 2019 at 8pm in Shovlin 201.

    XCOM The Boardgame

Placed in command of the elite military organization known as XCOM, you and your friends must find some means to turn back an escalating alien invasion. As UFOs appear in orbit and worldwide panic threatens to undermine national governments, the game's free companion app and its push-your-luck dice rolling mechanics immerse you deep in the tension and uncertainty of a desperate war against an unknown foe.
    You are humanity's last hope...

    • Number of Players: 1-4
    • Ages: 14+
    • Play Time: 60-120 Minutes

    Magic Maze

Recently stripped of your possessions, your group of down-on-their-luck adventurers has nary a copper piece between you. Your only option if you're to resume your dungeon-delving activities is to sack the local mall of valuables and supplies.

Magic Maze is a real-time, co-operative game. Each player can control any of the 4 Hero pawns whenever he wants in order to make that hero perform a very specific action, to which other players do not have access: move north, explore a new area, ride an escalator... all of this requires rigorous co-operation between the players in order to succeed at moving the heroes wisely, and complete your mission before the sand timer runs out.

Moreover, you will only be allowed to communicate for short periods during the game. The rest of the time, you must play without giving any visual or audio cues to each other.

    • Number of Players: 1-8
    • Ages: 8+
    • Play Time: 15 Minutes

    The Mind

Eyes locked, cards in hand-are you and your friends ready to become one mind?

The Mind is the ingenious, addictive and ridiculously fun game that everyone is buzzing about. How do you know what is in someone's hands without speaking? How do you make the right decision when the game is one the line? The answers lie in this little box. But beware, once you enter The Mind, you will not be able to think about anything else. And while the rules are simple, surviving every level is anything but...

    • Number of Players: 2-4
    • Ages: 10+
    • Play Time: 15-30 Minutes

    Kobolds Ate My Baby
It's not your fault that Kobolds are gourmets. It's not you fault that King Torg (All Hail King Torg!) is hungry. It's not your fault that the tastiest thing a Kobold has ever eaten is sweet baby! And it's defineatly, not your fault that Kobolds are the most incompetent, reckless, and accident prone race to ever crawl out of a cave. But it is your problem...
King Torg (All Hail King Torg!) needs you - yes, you - to go out to the nearby human town and bring back the freshest, tastiest, plumpest human babies you can find - or, the King will be eating you (and Kobold's pretty darn tasty.)
    Scenario: Kobolds ate my Baby
    GM: Sydney P.

It's... exactly as ridiculous as it sounds. Horrible death and failure is expected, and expected to be hilarious.

    Boss Monster
Inspired by a love of classic video games, Boss Monster: The Dungeon Building Card Game pits 2-4 players in a competition to build the ultimate side-scrolling dungeon. Players compete to lure and destroy hapless adventurers, racing to outbid one another to see who can build the most enticing, treasure-filled dungeon. The goal of Boss Monster is to be the first Boss to amass ten Souls, which are gained when a Hero is lured and defeated - but a player can lose if his Boss takes five Wounds from Heroes who survive his dungeon.
Playing Boss Monster requires you to juggle two competing priorities: the need to lure Heroes at a faster rate than your opponents, and the need to kill those Heroes before they reach your Boss. Players can build one room per turn, each with its own damage and treasure value. More attractive rooms tend to deal less damage, so a Boss who is too greedy can become inundated with deadly Heroes.

    • Number of Players: 2-4
    • Ages: 14+
    • Play Time: 90 Minutes
