Three die in drive by attack on Italian Restaurant

Last night, Wario's Italian Restaurant was the scene of a drive by shooting that left 3 people dead. No one was able to give any information about the vehicle or people that shot at the restaurant, but local law enforcement officials are still hoping someone may step forward with information about the car and or shooters.

It is unclear as to the reasoning behind the drive by shooting, as well. Wario's is believed by some to be a place regularly frequented by members of the local Italian Crime Syndicate, thus leading some to believe it may have be strike at the Mafia. Although Wario claims no association with any criminal elements, and there is no indication that there were any high-ranking members of the Mafia present at the restaurant when the shooting took place.

The presence of a group of Supers having dinner at the restaurant has also given rise to the speculation that the drive by may have been aimed at them. It was stated by a few witnesses that three of the Supers were hit by bullets, as they were sitting at the front window of the diner. It was confirmed by the Bureau of Super-Heroes that the team known as United Supers was having dinner at the restaurant and that three of them were struck by bullets. One was teleported by a fellow team member to headquarters where they received medical attention. The other was taken to a local hospital were he received medical attention there. The third was struck several times, but being a super was not actually harmed. Both Supers that received medical attention were released from the respective medical facilities earlier today.

Both local law enforcement officials and Bureau spokesmen have said they have no indication that United Supers were the targets in the shooting. "They just happened to be eating dinner when they were shot at during the drive by shooting," stated Bureau spokesman John Smith. "If they were the targets of the shooting we doubt it would have been a simple drive by shooting."

Despite the presence of the Supers at the scene, three people died from the gun shots, while several others were wounded. Although a few witnesses stated that if it were not for the Supers sitting at the window, more bullets may have struck and killed more people. "Well I don't know if they intended it, but it certainly appears one of the supers, just by sitting at the window, acted as sort of a shield for the bullets being shot into the restaurant," said John Smith.

The names of the three victims are being with-held pending the results of the investigation and the notification of their families. The rest of the people that only suffered wounds were all released from local hospitals by the time of the printing of this article.

Wario has stated that he will re-open his restaurant as soon as he can after the investigation finishes. "I'll not let those devils that shot my place up, keep me down," said Wario. "My restaurant is too much of a piece of me and the local neighborhood to let it close down."
