Today at around 2:30pm at the 5/3rd bank on lower South street, the first battle in a new war between the United States of America and its neighbors to the south took place. While this was not the start of a massive war along the lines of troops streaming across the border, but a more insidious type of war it was the start of Economic Warfare. This first incident was an blatant attempt by the government of Mexico to destabilize the economic foundation of the United States of America, and thus potentially the world at large.
At around 2:30pm three super-villains, two of them obviously sent by the Mexican government, walked into the bank and knocked all the people in the bank unconscious. They were wearing the garb of characters from Mexican Folklore, except for the third member of the villainous team who was apparently a young boy, not dressed up in any manner of Mexican folklore character.
The leader of this mexican economic strike unit, was The Aztec, while his large henchman was a super known as Montezuma. The young boy appears to have been a unwilling participant in the attack, due to The Aztec's known mental abilities to control people. It is believed this was the same mental ability that was used to try and put doubt into the minds of the people at the bank in the bank's ability to handle financial matters, but instead caused the people to pass out.
If it were not for the brave intervention of the Bureau of Super-Heroes team United Supers, these banditos would have robbed the bank of all its money and caused financial ruin for all those who depend on that bank for their financial stability. This would not only include those who have money deposited there, but those who have mortgages and loans from the bank, as well as those people who have investments in the stock market made through the bank. Thus the start of financial ruin for the whole United States would have started with the fall of this one bank due to a team sent by the Mexican government.
From the financial ruin of the US stock market, it would easily have caused a tremendous ripple affect through out the world. Destabilization would have quickly occurred in the Japanese stock market, then the South-East Asian markets, with the sweeping tide of ruin finally ending up in the European markets. This sudden shock to the system would have wiped out all economic differences between countries in the world, bringing the only true First World power and all the Second World nations down to the level of Third World nations. Leaving not only all of the American populace living in poverty, but the remaining people's of the world as well.
This of course was the Mexican government's plan from the start when they sent their team of supers across the border to reek economic havoc upon the United States by robbing key banks. The Mexican government of course would also suffer from the world economic collapse they had spurred, but with the money they robbed from these key banks in the United States, they could have easily staved off the worse of the effects and then proceeded to leverage their 'accumulated' wealth to make them the only economic world power left standing.
Of course the Mexican consulate refused any knowledge or collusion with the Supers that tried to rob the bank. The Bureau of Super-Heroes in an attempt to not ruffle any feathers with our 'neighbors' to the south, stated that they have no proof that the Super-Villains involved in the bank robbery had any connections to the Mexican government or to a conspiracy to destabilize the world economy.
