The Terrors that Yet Slumber
Adventure Log: September 9th, 2012
NOTES
- Chicken Nugget awakens from his sleep in the pantry to the sounds of scurrying and panting, but find nothing and goes back to sleep
- Morgrym falls soundly asleep while trying to watch his prisoner, Olthar
- Soraen Aurelaen wakes up to the sound of tapping on the portal of the room she is sharing with Eliphas and Maximus, but the others do not wake
up. She blindly grabs the chamber pot and throws it against the wall over Maximus' head smashing it, awaken both Maximus and Eliphas.
- Elpihas then gets out of bed and open the portal to see what was causing the tapping, to find nothing there
- Soraen then takes a closer look and finds a wax seal attached to the portal, but she does not recognize what the symbol is on the seal
- Maximus takes a look and recognizes it as the seal of the Master of the Gray Order, so he takes the seal.
- Elpihas and Maximus decided to go back to sleep, while Soraen heads above deck to see if she can spot anything, but does not see anything out
of the ordinary, so goes back to sleep
- Chicken Nugget wakes up in the morning, and checks the pantry for
brunch varmit sized holes, but not finding any goes on to start cooking
- Eliphas wakes up and goes above desk and sees dark stormy clouds in the distance
- Morgrym wakes and checks to make sure that Olthar is adequetly manacled
- Sorean wakes up and goes talk to the Captain. He looks worried, and she asks him if putting arcane symbols is a common thing to do on the ship.
He says only in cases where the crew are superstitous, but not normally. She tells him about the seal they found, and he says he will send someone
to investigate, but in the meantime she should get some food and then go back to her room, and prepare for the storm
- Eliphas goes to the kitchen and finds Chicken Nugget serving...food, so he takes some and eats it.
- Morgrym has his food delivered by a cabin boy so that he does not have to leave his prisoner. When the cabin boy arrives, he opens the door
while keeping his crossbow aimed at Olthar. He spots a man with bright red hair walking by, and grabs his food.
- Maximus walks by a room on his way to get some food, and sees a guy answer the door with one hand, while his other hand holds a corssbow
pointing at a man in manacles. He shrugs and keeps on walking.
- A crewman in the kitchen tells everyone that they need to hurry up and get ready for the oncoming storm
- Sorean stops by the kitchen to get some food. She asks Chicken Nugget for a vegetarian option, to which he replies with a sprig of brocolli and
an apple. She asks for vegetarian porridge, which causes Chicken Nugget picks up a bowl of the porridge and pours it over his hands to strain out
the meat. She politly refuses the 'strained' porridge and just takes the brocolli and apple.
- Back at the room Maximus asks Soraen to clean up the broken chamber pot, but she decides to instead use one of her arcane power to clean it up.
But Soraen fails to cast Shooting Star to clean up the mess, which stresses her out. She decides to find a crew member to clean it up for her for 1
silver
- Eliphas decides to spend the time meditating before the storm hits
- Chicken Nugget battens down in the Pantry
- Morgrym sits across from his prisoner, Olthar, as the storm rocks the ship. Olthar starts grinning as the storm really starts to rock the ship.
Suddenly the ships rocks hard enough that it throws Morgrym up and through the door to the cabin, which opens just in time to spill him out into
the hallway. As he picks himself he sees a little green slimey thing holding the door open from the outside of the room, and Olthar then stands
- Morgrym quickly draws and fires his crossbow bolt at the little green slimey thing, but the shot goes wild and embeds itself hard in the
doorsil above a crewmember with a loud thud. causing the crewmember to rush out of the hallway.
- Soraen, Eliphas and Maximus hear the thud of the bolt, and spring to attention in their room
- The little green slimey thing claws at Morgrym but just rakes across his leather armor
- Soraen and Eliphas both rush into the hallway and bring their weapons to the ready, and sees a dwarf and a little slimey green thing
- Olthar puts his manacled hands down, and two more little slimey green things crawl out from under the bed, and take off his manacles, looking
at Morgrym saying "I want him alive"
- Maximus walks into the hallway, and seeing the state of things readies his crossbow pistol as well
- Morgrym reloads and fires a bolt in to the little green slimey thing hitting it with a squelching noise
- Soraen starts to channel her power
- Eliphas moves up to the side of the dwarf and cleaves the head of the little green slimey things head with his Kama, causing it to turn into a mussy pile of
slime and a cloud of green gas
- The little green slimey things in the room rush and grab Morgrym's feet and quickly pull him back into the room, and slamming the door shut
- Maximus rushes over to the door and tries to open it, but does not manage to open it
- Olthar reaches over and fails to smack the crossbow pistol out of Morgrym's hand
- Morgrym manages to kick one of the little green slimey things off his legs
- Eliphas moves to the door and pulls it open
- Soraen tries to use healing energy on herself, but does not succeed
- The free little green slimey thing tries to grab Morgrym's leg, but instead latches on to his off-arm
- Maximus fires a crossbow bolt at one of the little green slimey things holding onto Morgrym but instead hits Morgrym in the shoulder with it
- Olthar charges at Elpihas but misses completly ending up smashing against the wall in the hallway standing in the left over gas cloud of the
dead little green slimey thing
- Morgrym manages to free himself of the little green slimey thing on his arm
- Eliphas uses his Repeated Strike ability on Olthar and lands a hard hit on him
- The little green slimey thing grabs at Eliphas' ankles but Eliphas dodges it, while the other continues to hold onto Morgrym's leg
- Soraen stands back to assess the situation
- Maximus summons of Flamming Sword
- Olthar shoulder checks Maximus hard hurting him hard
- Morgrym manages to break free of the little green slimey thing on his leg
- Eliphas rushes over to Olthar and uses his Right Moment ability to critically wound him with a large gash
- A little green slimey thing swipes at Maximus but misses wide, same with the other at Morgrym's leg
- Soraen powers up and fires a shooting star at one of the little green slimey things toasting it to near death
- Olthar knocks Eliphas down and rush down the hall and up the stairs to the ship's deck
- Maximus swings his flamming sword at one of the little green slimey things, but misses
- Morgrym manages to stand up and get a shot off wounding one of the little green slimey thing
- Eliphas bounds up the stairs after Olthar and manages to get to the top of the steps right behind Olthar
- One of the little green slimey things burns to death, while the other barley manages to touch Maximus
- Soraen rushes down the hall and up the stairs
- Olthar starts to chant
- Maximus steps away from the flaming pile of slime and green gas looking for sand to put out the fire
- On deck meanwhile there is a sudden strike of lightening strikes Olthar turning him in to ashes. The lightening strike throws Eliphas overboard
and blinds Soraen
- The last little green slimey thing dissolves into a puddle
- Eveyone hears the loud thunder clap, defeaning them
- Soraen scrambles for rope to help Eliphas get back on board, while Eliphas manages to swim over the boat. As she tosses the rope over the side
, it misses Eplihas who is climbing up the side of the ship. As he gets back on deck, Soraen sees the rope is not needed and pulls it back onboard,
at which point they both notice a raven on the other side of the ship. They also notice that it has four eyes.
- Soraen looks at the raven with her magical sight and suddenly passes out, and Eliphas manages to catch her and her hood falls off her head
showing her circlet
- Elpihas quickly rushes Soraen back to the room passing Maximus who is using sand to put out the fire
- After Elpihas puts Soraen to bed, Morgrym asks him about Olthas. Elpihas tells him that Olthar is a pile of ashes up on the deck.
- Morgrym rushes upon the rain lashed deck, and laments about the lose of his 2 gold peice bounty, screaming No!!!
- Maximus goes up on deck after Morgrym to retreive his crosswbow bolt. He finds Morgrym still lamenting his lost money, and just reaches over
and pulls out the bolt from his shoulder, without a flinch from Morgrym. Maximus tries to cauterize the wound, but it does not work.
- The group then retreats to their rooms to rest up
- The rest of the boat trip is uneventful
- In Altdorf the group breaks up to go about their business
- Soraen and Elpihas head to the Elven district where Soraen can talk to someone she can trust to talk about the past events
- Maximus and Morgrym head to the Mage's Tower
- Chicken Nugget goes to find where to sign-up for the National CupCake cook off preliminaries
- Chicken Nugget finds the tavern where the prelims are going to take place, and signs up for the prelims. As he does so he notices there are a
lot of names on the list. He distracts the event official and erases one of the names on the list. He distracts the official again, and strikes
through another name on the list. Finally he distracts the official once, more and puts down "agent of nurgle" next to another name. After that
he learns that the prelims start in a week, so he heads out the door to find something to do until then.
- Morgrym walks into the Mage's Tower and shows a jar of Olthar's ashes to the official, who tells him that they will not pay for that since,
they wanted him alive. So Morgrym walks over to the Bounty Board and looks for any bounties that are Dead Or Alive.
- Maximus manages to get in to take his test, and passes. With his new copy of the brass key in hand he runs into his fellow wizards, the ones
who 'sent' him to Marienburg, at the local tavern. He talks about the adventures he had on the way back to Altdorf, where they scoff at the notion
of him fighting the little green slimey things. They also chuckle about him fighting alongside Morgrym. Maximus looks over and sees that Morgrym
has decided to drink in the same tavern and calls him over to join them for a drink, on him. Chicken Nugget happens to wander into the same
tavern at this point, and climbs up a stoll to join them in a drink.
- Soraen manages to find Syliphere, who was a friend of her teacher. She talks to him about the events of the journey from Marienburg to Altdorf.
He then invites her and Eliphas back to his Estate to discuss things even more in depth. There they discuss the events that have happened in the
past.
