The Terrors that Yet Slumber
Adventure Log: September 23rd, 2012
NOTES
- While the high elves, Sepia and Soraen, continue to watch Tangled the play the rest of the group are confronted by 5 dogs outside the doors to the
Magic Tower.
- Eliphas tries to commune with the dogs this turns into him trying to punt one of the dogs instead,
"Guys they are not communicating, we have a problem. Not my fault."
- Maximus VonWitt channels some power and casts a fireball at the dogs burning one of the dogs, which causes it to flee.
- Chicken Nugget reaches into his bag and pulls out some rank meats and tosses them at the doggies which distracts a few of them.
- The guys then quckly run past the doggies, but they turn and manages to keep of with the group. As the chase continues more dogs
start to join the chase. Chicken Nugget tries to jump into a barrel and hide, but instead manages to only bang his head on the side
of the barrel. Eliphas tries to grab on to a hanging sign but only manages to bat it away. Maximus VonWitt tries to hide in a store
but only manages to "hide" in an open air stall.
- As the guys stumble about trying to avoid the doges, they notice that the dogs are not attacking but instead just trying to corral
them in a group together, but Eliphas manages to climb up a wall using his daggers. Chicken Nugget tries to dive through a store front
window, but only bounces off of it, and is pulled back to center of the road by a dog who grabbed his leg. As he is dragged along, he tries
to grab a newspaper to roll up and whack the dog on the nose, but fails to do so. Maximus VonWitt pulls out
his Sword of Rhuin, and starts waving it around.
- On the top of the building Eliphas meets a man in gray robes, "Can I help you?". The robed looks over Eliphas who starts doing
muscle poses.
- The robed guy, "You can end this all. You may not know me but I work for the gray order."
- Eliphas and the robed guy discuss the sword and asks for Eliphas to give it over to him, but Eliphas refuses. After more talking Eliphas
jumps off the roof to join his friends in the street, and the dogs go running away. The guys decide it is time to take the sword back to
Soraen, so they will not get chased by dogs any more.
- After the play Sepia and Soraen go shopping to find better clothes for Soraen.
- The guys show up at the gate of the High Elves district, but find that the girls are not there, they decide to wait in one of the waiting rooms
for the girls to return.
- The girls return to a message that a Wood elf, a Human and a halfing are waiting for them. So they go to the reception balcony to 'meet' with the
guys.
- Soraen meets the guys, and pulls Eliphas aside to talk with him about the sword. Eliphas then tells the Chicken Nugget and Maximus VonWitt it is
late and they should go get some rest, and dismisses them. So Chicken Nugget and Maximus VonWitt head back the to tavern for some food before going
to bed.
- Eliphas tells Soraen after their dinner that the Gray order is after the sword and there is a robed guy who will try to talk to her about it.
Soraen asks Eliphas if he is willing to help defend her and the sword. He replies that he will try.
- Soraen then asks for some sleeping aides and then goes to her bedroom taking the sword with her, where she goes to sleep with the sword.
- Maximus VonWitt gets back to Magic Tower, where he is interrogated about his future plans within the bright order.
- Chicken Nugget at dinner is approached by a portly fellow with gold. The guy asks for Chicken Nugget to make food for him. So Chicken Nugget
makes Beer Battered Smashed Broccoli Chicken, which he calls Rapid Food. But the portly fellow asked for a meal and not a snack. Chicken Nugget
then proceeds to cook a great meal. The portly fellow then asks Chicken Nugget to be his Chef. Chicken Nugget says yes, provided he can get
time off for the Cupcake championships. The portly fellow tells Chicken Nugget that the cupcake championships have been postponed due to
possible cult activity. So while each of the contestents are interrogated about their involvement in cults. The portly fellow then gives
Chicken Nugget his address and leaves.
- The Next Morning
- Chicken Nugget shows at the estate of the and just starts cooking random stuff
- Eliphas gets up and trains with his swords in the courtyard
- Soraen gets up breathing heavy and sees Eliphas practicing. She gets dressed and heads out to the courtyard with Morvael's sword. There she
discusses the sword and the blue orders divination. Soraen and Eliphas agree that while Soraen will teach Eliphas educational stuff, Soraen
will get lessons in sword play.
- Sepia gets a letter that says the King is coming to visit her estate/
- Eliphas is dressed up for the visit, after which Soraen sends Eliphas to give the sword to Maximus for safe keeping, after which Eliphas
returns back to the estate.
- Soraen then is called up for the TEST. After a bit she is brought back to Sepia's estate in time for the party for the King's visit, on the way back she sees Morvael.
- Chicken Nugget manages to attend the party as the caterer brought in by the portly fellow. Once there he cooks up some Smashed Broccolli and Something for ordervours.
- Maximus is sent to the party as part of a test of his social graces.
