Bobby Ritzi
|
My name is Bobby Ritzi and I am honored to be serving as your senate president for this school year. Here at Witt, I am senior business major focusing in advertising and marketing communications and after graduation I hope to find myself in the Account Management Department of a successful advertising agency. In addition to senate and my studies, I am also a co-captain on the Swimming & Diving team, tour guide, Greek Standards Board member, and a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. As your president, I meet weekly with the Dean of Students, organize monthly breakfasts with Senior Staff, run our weekly senate and senate exec meetings, attend monthly faculty meetings with a voice and vote, meet with the Faculty Executive Board, sit on a Board of Directors Committee, and oversee the operations of all the student groups, clubs, societies and journals on campus.
As a member of the Wittenberg Community, Student Senate is your voice...Use us! We welcome everyone's feedback, suggestions and input on what you love about Witt and what you would like to see change. You can follow us on Twitter or Facebook, e-mail or contact any senator, and we also have a comment box located at the student center information desk. However, the best way to talk to senate is to come to our weekly meetings on Tuesdays @ 7:00pm, in the basement of Shouvlin Center. I look forward to the coming year and all of the exciting changes on campus. -Tiger Up!

Ted Winders
|
Hello Everyone! I am Ted Winders, the 2009-2010 Student Senate Vice President. Prior to being elected with Bobby Ritzi, I served as the President of SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee). Through SAAC we organized several initiatives to increase support for athletics, boost involvement on campus, while also holding the first ever Blood Battle against Wooster to collect blood for local centers. SAAC made a great platform to get involved with the Wittenberg community as a whole. As part of the Executive Board on Student Senate I get to meet with the Board of Directors, along with President Erickson's Senior staff, all here at Wittenberg. These meetings allow us, as students, to hold a powerful voice within the upper administration. I am also serving as the Senate Liason to Dining Services. With that being said, please don't hesitate to tell us what you want changed! Outside of Senate I am a Senior member of the Men's Lacrosse Team, FIJI, and College Republicans. I also go to class, where I am a Political Science major, Economics minor, and am in the process of applying to law schools. I encourage everyone to get involved here at Wittenberg, and if there is anything I can do for you please do no hesitate to email me at s10.twinders@wittenberg.edu.

Ali Thompson
|
Hey! My name is Ali Thompson, and I am a senior (tear) biology and chemistry double major (more tears) from Parkersburg, WV. As Student Senate Treasurer, I work with Finance Committee to attempt to make sure every student group on campus gets enough money to make their club work—as long as they come to budget hearings! As this year’s budget is probably tighter than it’s been in a while, I apologize ahead of time for the cutting back that will surely happen to everyone. I also serve on the Executive Board where I give updates on the budget, attend Senior Staff breakfasts, and go to Board of Directors meetings. Outside of Senate, you will probably find me studying, eating, or working out. If you do not see me doing any of the above, I am more than likely having some fun with my friends, working one of my student jobs, or playing intramurals. I hope I see ya around, and please email me if you have any questions or anything else that I could do for you!

Leslie Chasteen
|
Hey wit10berg! My name is Leslie Chasteen and I am honored to be serving my fourth year as President for the class of 2010. I am a communication major from Cincinnati, Ohio and can honestly say that Student Senate has been among my all time favorite Wittenberg experiences. I have had the privilege of working with 3 other fantastic class officers all four years—Corbin Neike-VP, Andrea Berry- Treasurer, Betty Cheney- Secretary. We are extremely excited to what opportunities and challenges senior year will bring. As we have in the past, our focus will once again be on connecting with our classmates and community. This year will bring along many large scale events- one being Commencement in May. While keeping these projects as our priority, we also are ready to have some fun!! Our time here is limited and we promise to do everything we can to make it the best it can be for the class of 2010. Please let me know if you would like to get involved or have any suggestions. You can contact me at s10.lchasteen@wittenberg.edu. Thanks for reading and see ya around!

Ben Hanf
|
Hi Witt! My name is Ben Hanf and I will be representing our Wittenberg Student Body as Off-Campus Senator for the 2009-2010 academic year. As Off-Campus Senator I facilitate the bond between the Wittenberg Police and our student body. I do this by scheduling and participating in Student Senate ride-alongs with the Wittenberg Police; they get to know us and how we feel about campus security, and we gain insight on what they go through on a day-to-day basis. I also attend monthly Security Advising meetings with the Wittenberg Police and Security and different committee chairs, in which we discuss changes that could be made to strengthen the bond between the police and our student body, and ideas on how to improve campus security. In addition to security issues, I also schedule campus-cleanups for the clubs on campus, so if you want to earn some quick money for you organization, shoot me an email and I will get you set-up. Some general information about me outside Senate is that I’m a Junior Biochemistry major and a Cross-Country and Track runner; I’m an active member of Delta Tau Delta and my second home is Pickerington, Ohio. We are here for you on Senate so please contact any one of us if you have questions. I encourage you to send me an email at s11.bhanf@wittenberg.edu if you have an issue with the Wittenberg Police and Security, have anything on your mind, or if you want to schedule a campus-cleanup.

Hey Witt! My name is Brendan Corrigan and I am the Greek Senator for the 2009-2010 school year. I’m a junior Management major with a focus in Accounting. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and love rooting for the Cavs, Indians and the Browns (sometimes). Around campus you can find me giving tours (please say “Hi”), working in the management department, as well as being actively involved in Newman Club, Peer Helpers, 2011 Cabinet as Class Treasurer, Finance Committee and Student Senate. Melissa Cederqvist

Hello WITT!
My name is Melissa Cederqvist and I am honored to be your International Senator this year. I am from the blue and yellow country of Pippi Longstocking, ABBA and Volvo… Sweden! At Wittenberg I am a senior double major in Chemistry and Management with double minors in Computational Science and Economics. I am a member of the American International Association (AIA) and Chemistry Club as well as the Student Director of Wittenberg Center for Applied Management (WittCAM), a Team Captain for Relay for Life and a student worker in the office of the Chemistry Department. As your International Senator I represent the international community at Wittenberg and will also be part of a committee called Build A Better Wittenberg (BABW). Together I hope we can strengthen the bond between the international group and the rest of our wonderful school. I would like to encourage all students at Witt to attend at least one AIA meeting and event, and really take the opportunity of getting to know the students that represent countries and cultures from all over the world on our campus. This year there are 45 international students representing 23 countries from 5 continents (!) at Wittenberg. Let’s take the opportunity to combine what all of them have to offer with Witts’ great atmosphere and make our school even more unique than it already is! I would like to give our new international students for this year a VERY WARM WELCOME to WITT!! We hope you will like it here! Lastly, I wish ALL TIGERS the best year of 2009/2010! Have fun and study hard!! See you around campus! If you had the patience to read through all of this THANK YOU! Please don’t hesitate to stop me at anytime or contact me @ s10.mcederqvist@wittenberg.edu if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns.

Jeff Capella
|
Hello boys and girls! My name is Jeff Capella and I am the Student Athletic Senator for the 2009-10 academic year. I am a senior and a Management major with a minor in Economics. I am a 4 year member of the Men’s Lacrosse team here at Wittenberg, as well as, the Vice President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). I am excited to have been chosen as the student representative for all of the extremely talented athletes that we have on our campus. My primary role on senate is to serve as the voice of the student-athletes at our weekly meetings. I have been fortunate throughout my career at Wittenberg to experience some great opportunities in the field of Athletics. For instance, during fall semester 2008, I interned for our Athletic Director, Garnett Purnell. Last summer, I represented Wittenberg at the NCAA National Student Leadership conference which was held at Walt Disney World. Fortunately, I have also been able to extend my experience in athletics outside of the Wittenberg community. I spent this past summer serving as an intern with Columbus’ NHL franchise the Blue Jackets. Each of these experiences has taught me a great deal about all phases of athletics and I am very excited to put that knowledge to use during the upcoming school year! If anyone has questions, ideas or opinions that you want to share, please feel free to come up and talk with me on campus or email me at s10.jcapella. I wish you all the best of luck this year and of course……..GO TIGERS!!
