Call To Order: Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
I. Call to Order/Roll Call/Minutes Approved
II. Special Order-
A. Witt Dance Company: need us to approve constitution to allow them
to continue next year, advisor quit, so they are becoming a club, need
our approval so they can ask for money in the fall, Casey Smith (junior)
B. Witt TV: propose a Witt TV station, would use the channel we already
show movies on, weekly or daily news shows, start off with 2-3 weekly
shows and go from there, equipment would be borrowed from the library’s
AV department, Sean McKinnis (president)
Motion to suspend order approved, voted on both WDC and Witt TV and
approved both
III. Officer Reports-
A. Ann- Jr.-Sr. Night Thursday at Station One, already beginning plans
for events next fall
B. Katie Seay- Pi-Palooza on Wittfest for the ADPi’s, Chi-O spring
social on May 6th at 6:30pm at the house, Sigma Kappa Squirt Gun Mafia
on Wittefest ($1 for 1, or $2 for 3) sign-ups at lunch or dinner, Cram-Jam
on Reading Day, Farewell to Dean Hieda
C. Ben S.- RHA has elected all new board
D. Elise- sophomore class picnic in the hollow, meal swap, Thursday,
April 29th, 5-7pm
E. Alyssa- Witt GQ last Friday went well, 1st class officers for next
year tonight
F. Yusef- elections held (new officers include: Lamarr Lewis- president,
Jalyn Parks-VP, Yusef- senate rep, Aaron Davis-treasurer, Tureya Lewis-
historian, Alexandria- secretary, Bruce/Rachel Jacobs-BSTF), CBS Walk-out
was a success, statement deploring racism is going forward (date not
exact), last meeting and transitions tomorrow
G. Will- summer info sheets done, make sure you get one
H. Beth- need all BABW people to come (senators from CBS, RHA, and finance)
I. Dean Scott- candidates for Dean of Students:
Melinda Dalgarn: open forum tomorrow @ 7pm in Kissell
Kathy Shellogg: meet and greet @5pm Sunday in atrium on Shouvlin, dinner
with Senate exec @ 5:45pm on Sunday, open forum @ 3pm May 3rd in Bayley
Carolyn Perkins: meet and greet @ 5:15pm, dinner with Senate exec @
6:30pm (both May 4th), open forum @7pm in Bayley on May 5th
Rumors about $ for printing off computers next year is just a rumor,
asked at Cabinet mtg.
J. Jared- any expenses, just ask him for the credit card
K. Ben/Scruggs- still can use names for FSCs
IV. Committee Reports-
A. Finance (Jared)- two costs of $1,000 each were not in budget but
are always financed by Senate (leadership workshop and activities booklet
for the fall), need to eat cost, motion to approve these to put them
permanently into our budget, approved – also needs UB, CBS, and
AIA reps on finance committee
B. PR (Kate and Karen)- need names of people interested in being on
committee
C. FSC’s (Ben and Scruggs)- same
V. Open Forum-
A. Dean Scott- Exec and Cabinet will meet, we might know by Friday who
our interm President will be
VI. Old Business-
A. Repeat of Dean Scott’s report, make sure you fill out an evaluation
VII. New Business-
A. Senator mail boxes- already set up
B. Approval of Dymond McDonald and Brian Davis for Senate Hearing Board,
approved
C. Raise Your Voice Committee- looking to be a part of Senate PR committee-
not looking to be a club, just want help- discussed and decided we did
not understand what they want, tabled until next fall when someone from
them can come in and talk to us
D. S.A.L.A.D.- just discussed summer leadership training that we approved,
different workshop this summer than last
E. Names for students that may be interested in serving on Presidential
search committee- Erika Franz, Bruce Robinson, Jim Outz, Jayln Parks,
Kristyn Russell, Elise Renz, Eric Rey, Ashely Kopf
