The Wittenberg Community

The Wittenberg community welcomes individuals of all faith backgrounds, supports healthy, sustainable living, and encourages diversity as shown in its commitment to expansive multicultural student programming.

Affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Wittenberg community also daily reflects its Lutheran heritage. Weaver Chapel’s central location gives clues to the type of environment students find at Wittenberg. Whether it be an in-depth discussion about one’s purpose or life’s meaning with a professor, friend or campus pastor, or just a quick conversation over coffee, students regularly witness Wittenberg’s compassionate, open and friendly campus each and every day.

In the broader community, large-scale retail operations along Bechtle Avenue in Wittenberg’s hometown of Springfield ensure that students have access to all that they need. Numerous internships and networking opportunities also bring added value and dimension to student life, while short drives in all directions lead to quaint artsy communities and a range of natural settings, which not only inspire creativity, but also provide a respite from the challenging academic scene.
