If these requests count for requirement hours for students enrolled in CMSV 100 during the time of the project, then it will be marked with an *. Here is the listing of these special requests.

Alternative Spring Break Trips

The Community Service Office provides students with opportunities to serve, to connect with the greater Springfield community, and to reflect on the service experience to better understand themselves, community needs, and their responsibiilty in advancing the common good.  We are intentional about preparing students for their service experiences, providing quality service placements, and having students reflect on what they are learning from their engagement in community service.  Alternative spring break trips that want to be considered as a Community Service 100 service opportunity take on the special responsibility of offering an experience that supports the mission of the Community Service Office.

CMSV 100 Alternative Spring Break Guideline

Participation in an alternative service immersion experience offered during break times must be sponsored by a Wittenberg organization/department.  You must be registered for CMSV 100 during the semester that the spring break trip is offered and meet all the requirements of the course.  An approved alternative spring break trip counts for 20 hours of 27 service hours needed to complete CMSV 100.  The final 7 hours of service must be completed in the Springfield community.

The deadline for submitting an Alternative Spring Break Trip Proposal is November 14, 2008.
